What is respite care?

Respite home care gives primary caregivers a break from their usual responsibilities. It offers temporary relief for those who care for family members who are elderly, ill, or living with disabilities.

It may include:

  • Personal care
  • Companionship
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Transportation to appointments or social activities
  • Running errands
  • Light housekeeping, including laundry and linen changes.
  • Pet care

Respite care can be a one-time service or a regular schedule

What to expect

We work closely with families to understand the usual care routine and agree on a care plan that will address the clients needs and how they would like support to be delivered. Our services replicate their routine as closely as possible.

We also agree on the preferred level of communication, providing regular updates and reassurance during the respite period.
